Are you interested in the fascinating world of surgery? Then the Student Forum at the German Surgery Congress (DCK) is the perfect place for you! Here, you have the unique opportunity to explore the field of surgery in all its facets—from trauma surgery, general and visceral surgery, to pediatric, thoracic, vascular, and plastic-reconstructive surgery.

Theory meets practice – The Student Forum consists of two exciting parts:

1. Lectures – Dive into the diversity of surgery
In these lectures, you will have the chance to get to know various surgical specialties better. Young surgeons from the specialist societies’ forums will present their fields and offer valuable insights into postgraduate training opportunities. Topics such as training regulations and work-life balance in surgery will also be covered. Here, you will learn everything you need to know for your future in surgery!

2. Hands-on courses – Get hands-on experience!
A limited number of students also have the chance to participate in practical, hands-on courses. Under the guidance of experienced tutors, you can practice surgical techniques in a realistic setting and further develop your manual skills.

As a medical student, participation in the entire congress is free of charge! There is also the possibility of receiving a subsidy for travel and accommodation costs—a fantastic opportunity to attend without significant financial expense.

Application for Hands-on Courses and Travel Grants
To participate in the hands-on courses and receive travel and accommodation grants, you must submit an application. We will notify you of your acceptance in mid-January.
However, attendance at the lectures is separate from this and open to all medical students.
