The following General Terms and Conditions govern the contractual relationship between wikonect GmbH and the participants in the DCK 2027 – 144 event. German Surgical Congress, which will take place April 13–15, 2027, online (DCK.digital), and April 21–23, 2027, at the ICM – International Congress Center Munich.
1. Organizer
The conference organizer, wikonect GmbH, Hagenauer Straße 53, 65203 Wiesbaden, is the organizer and financial sponsor of the event and charges the participation fees—which are payable to wikonect GmbH—in its own name and on its own behalf.
2. Terms of Participation / Registration
Participation in the event is reserved for physicians and healthcare professionals. Participants must provide proof of their respective professional status as part of the registration process.
There is no general right to participate. The organizer reserves the right to approve participation on a case-by-case basis.
Participation fees are per person.
To participate in the livestream of the event, you may need to create a free account on the online conference platform being used.
Registration for the event can be completed via the online form.
Registrations will be processed in the order they are received. The invoice must be paid in full before the event begins.
3. Payment and Cancellation Policies
Payment of the participation fees is due upon completion of the registration and the resulting binding reservation. Various common electronic payment methods (excluding American Express) and participation in the SEPA direct debit system are available as payment options. Invoices are sent only to the participants, addressed to the billing address provided during registration, and are preferably sent via email.
Proof of eligibility for a reduced registration fee is required and must be submitted no later than seven days before the event begins. After this deadline, the previously granted discount will be automatically recalculated. If you need to make changes to your registration, please contact wikonect GmbH by mail or email. Please note that a processing fee of €10 will be charged for invoice corrections. Registration is personal and non-transferable. For cancellations made up to 14 days before the start of the event or livestream, a cancellation fee of €35 will be charged. For cancellations made after this deadline, no refund of the participation fee will be issued. Cancellation is no longer possible once the digital seminar materials have been downloaded. The full participation fee is also due if registered participants do not attend the event or watch the livestream. Cancellations must be submitted in writing to wikonect GmbH.
A rebooking fee of €20.00 will be charged for any type of rebooking (such as switching from an in-person event to a livestream and vice versa, etc.). Any differences in participation fees will be refunded or billed accordingly. If you change your registration to the livestream less than 14 days before the start of the in-person event you booked, the same participation fees apply as for the in-person event. A change to an in-person event is generally only possible if seats are available.
If, due to force majeure (such as the COVID-19 pandemic), you are unable to attend the booked in-person event or if the event cannot take place, your registration will be transferred—if desired—to the corresponding livestream at no charge. Any differences in participation fees will be refunded.
All prices are listed inclusive of applicable sales tax.
4. Changes to and Cancellations of the Event by the Organizer
The event/livestream will take place only if a minimum number of participants is reached.
This also applies to all courses, seminars, and related events taking place as part of the event/livestream. The organizer reserves the right to replace speakers, reschedule or relocate program components, cancel them, or make changes to the program.
If the event or livestream must be canceled entirely, the organizer will inform participants immediately. In this case, any fees already paid will be refunded in full.
If individual program components that were booked separately and are subject to a fee (e.g., seminars, courses, etc.) are canceled, the respective fee will be refunded.
Any further claims are excluded, unless they are based on intentional or grossly negligent conduct on the part of the organizer’s employees or other agents.
5. Availability of the livestream and digital seminar materials
Access to the livestream is only available after payment has been received and once the respective event has begun. The start time is listed on the relevant pages of our website.
In the event of technical failures during the livestream, the organizer shall not be held liable, and no refunds will be issued for fees already paid, unless the disruptions are due to intentional or grossly negligent conduct on the part of the organizer’s employees or other agents.
If on-demand videos of the presentations are made available, they will be posted online on the conference platform approximately two weeks after the corresponding event or livestream and will be accessible there for a period of 3 months. Participants will be notified of their availability provided wikonect GmbH has a valid email address on file.
6. Access Policy
Access to the event venue is restricted to registered participants only; all other individuals and pets (except for guide dogs) are prohibited from entering.
Admission to the trade exhibition is reserved exclusively for industry professionals. Access to the exhibition booths—particularly those of the pharmaceutical industry—is permitted only to physicians, dentists, veterinarians, pharmacists, and persons who are authorized to trade in these drugs (pharmaceutical manufacturers and wholesalers), as the German Law on the Advertising of Medicines prohibits the promotion of prescription drugs to other groups of people.
For legal reasons, children one year of age or older are not permitted to enter the conference facilities. Infants under one year of age may be brought into the event facilities when accompanied by their parents or a legal guardian.
If it is necessary to bring children under one year of age into the event venue, this is permitted only under the constant supervision of an adult and in compliance with the restricted access policies.
7. Third-Party Provisions / House Rules
Please note the separate provisions of third parties, in particular their house rules, as well as any coat check rules established by the venue operator.
8. Liability for Damages
The organizer or host of the event bears unlimited liability for damage to the life, body, or health of participants resulting from a breach of duty by its legal representatives, employees, or agents. For other damages suffered by participants, the organizer or host bears unlimited liability only in cases of willful misconduct or gross negligence on the part of its legal representatives, employees, or agents. The organizer or host is not liable for simple negligence on the part of its legal representatives, employees, or agents, unless a duty is breached whose fulfillment is of particular importance for achieving the purpose of the contract (cardinal duty). This includes obligations whose fulfillment is essential for the proper performance of the contract, whose breach jeopardizes the achievement of the contract’s purpose, and on whose fulfillment the other contracting party regularly relies. In the event of a negligent breach of a cardinal obligation, liability is limited to the foreseeable damages typical for this type of contract.
9. Liability for Content
The information and publications regarding the events and livestreams have been carefully compiled and annotated by the respective speakers or authors to the best of their knowledge and based on the current state of knowledge. Without exception, the comments reflect the personal opinions of the respective speakers or authors. The information and comments are not a substitute for a physician’s specific treatment decision. It is the sole responsibility of the physician to use the relevant information and comments as a guide after making their own diagnosis.
The organizer assumes no responsibility or liability for any inaccuracies in the presentations and publications.
10. Copyrights
The event-related presentations and documentation are protected by copyright. They may not be reproduced, distributed, or used for commercial purposes, either in whole or in part, without the consent of the organizer and the respective presenters. Prior approval from the organizer must be obtained for all film and audio recordings intended to be made during the event.
11. Place of Performance / Jurisdiction / Governing Law
Wiesbaden is agreed upon as the place of performance and venue. These terms and conditions and all legal relationships between the contracting parties are governed by German law. The UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods is excluded.
12. Online Dispute Resolution Platform
The European Commission has established an online dispute resolution platform. It can be accessed at https://ec.europa.eu/consumer/odr. Consumers may use the platform to resolve their disputes. The organizer is neither willing nor obligated to participate in a dispute resolution proceeding before a consumer arbitration board, unless there is a legal obligation to do so.
